Sanpo Sounds — Studio Playlist

July '25

Excuse our two month hiatus, Summer took hold and we found ourselves outside the studio listening to birds and brooks more than our digital streams, that said, here's some of what we have been listening to when hold up indoors — This month's playlist opens with the soft-focus soul of Sade and the playful, neon bounce of Miso Extra before easing into the dubby 2 a.m. drift of Pulshar. From there, Paula Tape brings a humid conga haze, musclecars and K15 offer sun-warmed jazz-house textures, and Chaos In The CBD pull you into a late-night roller. Takuya Matsumoto closes it out with something steady, spacious, and quietly radiant. For evenings that start tender and end in motion—packing a bag, cooking with friends, or watching the city turn blue-grey.

We've completed our trip to Japan, where we were able to connect with friends, visit a few studios, and sooo many shops. We're left feeling inspired, excited, and looking forward to sharing more with you all — This month's playlist is a slow-burn mix of atmospheric breaks, dusty samples, and late-night moods. From LTJ Bukem and DJ Shadow to Kuniyuki Takahashi and Galcher Lustwerk, it drifts between ambient, downtempo, and experimental grooves. With a few left turns, like the Tirzah remix and a Joni Mitchell closer.

We've been trip planning, getting more stories in order, and products online this month — This month's playlist drifts through dreamy textures, warped pop, and warm analog grooves. With artists like Jenny Hval, Oklou, Jack J, and Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith & Emile Mosseri, it moves between introspection and gentle propulsion. Expect a hazy, late-night feel—like flipping through old postcards in slow motion, with the occasional dance pulse pulling you back to the present.

It's still very much winter in Colorado and we're looking ahead to spring in Japan — This month's playlist is a mix of Japanese pop, indie rock, and electronic sounds. It features city pop and folk gems from Minako Yoshida and Yumi Arai, alongside psychedelic rock from Yura Yura Teikoku. There’s also some groovy electronic and ambient tracks from artists like Superpitcher, Axel Boman, and MJ Lallo.
